Non Verval Website Intelligence
by: Julian Brinkley

One of my most die hard clients, an avid
Wordpress user, forwarded me this:
PDF E-Book from DIYThemes.com.
While it is intended primarily for a Wordpress audience obviously, the central premise is true for all websites.
After taking a few minutes to review it, I feel that it highlights some very solid guidelines to use when evaluating your current site's effectiveness.
The author, David Halperin, focuses on five key areas of "Non Verbal Website Intelligence" that he contends improve the user experience.
- 1. Enlightening Images
- 2. Effortless Navigation
- 3. Soothing Typography
- 4. Engagement Evidence
- 5. Instant Access
It's well worth a few minutes of your time. And while I may have had a few additions, the five areas he highlights are great starting points (and common areas of weakness). See if any of the suggestions apply to your current site. Following these guidelines could potentially save you quite a bit of revenue, and more importantly, loads of customers.
