What do the terms PR and DoFollow Mean?

PR = Page Rank. The higher the page rank of sites that link to yours, the more valuable those links are. If there is a link on MSNBC.com for instance that links to your site, that link is by far more important to your ranking than one from anyoldwebsite.com. Because MSNBC.com is a well know, high trafficked website, it has a high PR. So a link on MSNBC.com, or any other well-known website, will help your site in Google rankings considerably. But keep in mind that low PR links are still good links they are just not as good as high PR back links.

Links come in two categories: DoFollow and NoFollow links. To keep it simple, think about links as arrows that point to places. A DoFollow link tells search engines to "go in this direction". A NoFollow link tells search engines that something is in that direction, but not to bother checking it out. Basically NoFollow links do not get followed by search engines so they do nothing for your search engine rankings.
